Code of Conduct for Own Loft SARPU Members and Management

Introduction

• This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members and management of Own Loft SARPU, fostering a community of respect, integrity, and fairness. Adherence to this code is essential for maintaining the high standards of our sport and the welfare of our pigeons.

General Conduct

• Members and management must treat each other with respect, dignity, and fairness at all times.

• All interactions should reflect sportsmanship, professionalism, and the spirit of pigeon racing.

• Confidentiality and privacy of members should be respected, particularly in handling personal data and internal communications.

Responsibilities to Pigeons

• All members must ensure the health, safety, and well-being of their pigeons, adhering to best practices in care, nutrition, and medical treatment.

• Cruelty, neglect, or any form of abuse towards pigeons is strictly prohibited.

Competition Integrity

• Members and management are expected to uphold the integrity of competitions by adhering to all rules and regulations.

• Any form of cheating, including the use of unauthorized substances or tampering with competition equipment, is strictly prohibited.

Social Media and Public Conduct

• Members and management should act responsibly on social media and in public forums, promoting the sport positively and refraining from any conduct that could bring Own Loft SARPU into disrepute.

• The organization must be represented with integrity and respect at all times.

Substance Use

• Members and management are prohibited from using or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during club activities and competitions.

• The organization promotes a safe environment free from substance abuse.

Privileges of Club Members

• Club members of affiliated Members shall enjoy full privileges of Own Loft SARPU as long as all rules and regulations are complied with.

• No participation in any event at Own Loft SARPU meetings or registration of pigeons for any race is allowed while under suspension.

• Rights to appeal are preserved as per clause 10, and the rules regarding appeals apply mutatis mutandis.

Disciplinary Actions and Testing

• The organization has the authority to test pigeons for forbidden drugs at any level and place. Positive tests, after due process, will result in disciplinary actions including the cancellation of performance and recovery of testing costs from the member.

• It is an offence to keep, race, or breed with a stray pigeon. Violations will result in a one-year suspension from competitive events.

Appeal Procedures

• Disciplinary and non-disciplinary appeals are governed by detailed procedures ensuring fairness and due process. Members dissatisfied with actions taken by their club or Own Loft SARPU can appeal to the disciplinary appeal board or a general meeting, subject to the submission of specified documents and an appeal fee.

Reporting and Resolution

• Members are encouraged to report any breaches of this code confidentially to the designated committee.

• All reports will be investigated fairly and thoroughly, with appropriate actions taken to resolve issues.
